What Customers Are Saying

REAL CUSTOMER, HONEST REVIEWS.

Like $9 bucks is totally fine for subscription. And if my guys are with a customer or in attic working in the heat it is nice to not text and bug, but just check with the app where they are.

Nathan B. Nathan B.Verified buyer

Support is good, tracker is fast. No harsh braking alerts, but great if you just want to track a car.

Adam B. Adam B.Verified buyer

We used Bouncie before and the updates were much slower. Very happy we made the switch.

Antonio G. Antonio G.Verified buyer

Thanks for helping me set up and track my mom. It’s awesome to just know where she is when she ignores my texts. Thankfully, she doesn't drive at night anymore lol

Matthew H. Matthew H.Caring for a parent

Easy even for someone not very smart like me. Tracks my service vans quick. Still cheaper than the stuff on Amazon.

HOW BUSINESS GPS TRACKING WORKS

Real-Time GPS Tracking for Business

Two minutes, plain English. Why a vehicle tracker beats tracking your drivers' phones.

Not the Phone. The Truck.

Tracking a driver's phone works only while the driver shares location, keeps the battery charged and carries the phone. Personal phones also raise privacy questions after hours. Konnect tracks the company vehicle instead. The tracker plugs into the OBD2 port, runs on the vehicle's power and reports location every 3 seconds. If anyone unplugs the tracker, you get a tamper alert.

Under the hood

How an OBD2 GPS Tracker Actually Works

Every vehicle from 1996 on has an OBD2 port under the dashboard, near the steering wheel. Your mechanic reads engine codes from that same port.

Konnect plugs into that port and runs on the vehicle's power. A built-in GPS chip finds the vehicle, and a 4G LTE connection sends location to Konnect every 3 seconds. Konnect skips constant engine polling, so the electrical load on your trucks stays light.

Your phone reads that data in real time. No Bluetooth pairing, no data caps and no apps on your drivers' phones.

What is an OBD II port, and does my car have one?

The On-Board Diagnostics II port is a small trapezoid socket under the driver-side dashboard. OBD II port has been standard on every car and light truck sold in the US since 1996, so Konnect works with most vehicles on the road, push-button start included. Tesla and most motorcycles are the main exceptions.

Do I need a data plan, and what does the monthly subscription cover?

Yes. The subscription fee covers the cellular data the tracker uses to transmit location data every 3 seconds. Konnect's monthly subscription is $8.95 with no contract and no hidden fees, so you can cancel anytime.

Prefer annual billing?

Bundle a year at checkout and pay no monthly fee for 12 months. For context, OBD tracker plans across the market run from about $5 to $50 a month.

Does it have a battery life, and will it drain my car battery?

There is no battery life to manage. Battery-powered GPS trackers need regular charging; an OBD tracker draws power from the vehicle's battery instead, so it stays on whether the car is running or parked. When parked it draws under 30 milliamps, less than a car alarm, so it will not run down a healthy car battery.

Does it monitor driving behavior or engine diagnostics?

No. Konnect does real time tracking, speed alerts, geofences, tamper detection and a year of trip history. It does not report harsh braking, rapid acceleration, fuel levels or other diagnostic data, on purpose.

Trackers that read engine codes sit on the car's data bus polling the engine computer all day, and that is where the complaints come from: warning lights with nothing wrong, modules that stop talking to each other, cars dropping into limp mode. Konnect takes power from the port and leaves your car's electronics alone.

If you want driving habits scored or erratic driving flagged, you want a different product. If you want to know where the car is, right now, you want this one.

Will my mechanic still be able to read engine codes?

Yes. Unplug the tracker from the OBD port for the appointment and plug it back in afterward. It takes two seconds.

What happens if someone unplugs it?

Tamper detection is built in. You get an instant alert on your phone the moment the tracker is unplugged, and a small backup battery keeps it reporting its location for about 15 minutes. Speed, geofence and tamper alerts are all customizable, by push notification and email.

How accurate is the location?

GPS accuracy is within 3 meters under open sky.

The tracker locks onto four or more satellites to calculate location, speed and direction, and shows the vehicle's exact location on Google Maps in the app. Parking garages and dense downtown blocks can widen that briefly, the same as any GPS.

Can I move it to another vehicle?

Yes. Unplug it from one car and plug it into the next; it keeps tracking on the same plan. Rename the vehicle in the app so your trip history stays labeled.

Can I track someone else's car?

Generally yes when you own or lease the vehicle, which covers a teen driver's car and business vehicles.

A few states also require the driver's consent, so employers should tell their drivers. Placing a tracker on someone else's car without permission is a crime in many states, and Konnect is not sold for that.

Who can see the location data, and where is it stored?

Only the people you invite. The app supports multiple users per tracker, and the same data is available in the web dashboard for business fleets. Trip history is stored on Konnect servers in the US for 12 months. Not sold, not shared.

Is the tracker visible, and does it affect how the car drives?

It is a small device that sits under the dash, out of sight. It has no effect on performance, mileage or emissions.

Does Konnect GPS work internationally?

Yes. Konnect works in more than 155 countries. The GPS signal itself is global, and the built-in SIM card connects to local cellular networks wherever the vehicle goes, so it keeps reporting on cross-border routes and international trips. Same tracker, same app.
